Ji Kim is the Lead Master Instructor at the Jim McLean Golf School at the Biltmore in Coral Gables, Florida, and the Head Teaching Professional at The Redding Country Club in Redding, Connecticut. Over the years, he’s been fortunate to teach at some of the most respected golf clubs in the country—places like Whistling Straits, Oak Hill Country Club, and Doral Golf Resort & Spa.
With more than 60,000 lessons taught, Ji has worked with just about every type of golfer—from absolute beginners holding a club for the first time to professionals refining the smallest details. What sets Ji apart is his long-standing “Focus Drill” method, a simple but incredibly effective approach he’s honed over more than thirty years. It’s become the foundation of his teaching, earning him the nickname “Doctor of Golf.”
His approach even caught the attention of Golf Channel’s Kelly Tilghman, who described Ji’s philosophy as the “Circle of Golf.” He’s also shared his insights on national television, making guest appearances on the NBC Golf Channel during major events like the British Open at St. Andrews and the PGA Championship at Whistling Straits.
For Ji, teaching golf isn’t just about technique—it’s about helping people gain confidence, enjoy the game more, and reach their potential. That’s what keeps him inspired every day.
